bittersweet....

Life is so bittersweet sometimes isn't it? One of my besties has moved away on a great and wonderful adventure. It's "sweet" that her husband got a great job promotion but very "bitter" because they must relocate :( I am truly excited for their new adventure and definitely saw God's hand in everything that has led up to their move which has been amazing. Even though she is just a phone call away my heart is sad that she isn't here anymore. I can't wait to hear all the new and exciting things that is in store for this sweet family! I love them so much and know God has great things in store for their lives.

You will be missed in AR Cleveland family! We are praying for your safe travel to AZ!

Painting 101

This is not the best idea for some one who isn't very coordinated!

I did not fall thank goodness but I was very relieved when I finished:) I left the living room for Patrick to do. My bravery only lasts so long. As I've mentioned before, we need all the prayers we can get!!

Who would've thought...

I never in a million years thought Patrick and I would undertake such a task as this house is. We own a bulldozer for goodness sakes and my husband has been driving a backhoe! And I'm beginning to believe all the people who tell us we're crazy:) We are almost finished painting- the master bed and bath and a few touch ups and we will have painted a whopping 5900 sq feet! And we feel every bit of it. We've also been working in the yard to remedy some drainage issues. With all that being said, I LOVE this place. I love seeing how the inside is coming back to life after years of neglect and how peaceful it is out on our backporch in the evenings. I can't wait to move in (and be finished working for a while)

what's normal?

My family wouldn't know what normal is. We aren't a 9-5 family, the familiar to us is the unfamiliar, we don't just roll with the punches we shimmy, jump and hurdle. That's who we are. And normal in this season of our life isn't anywhere to be found!

For example, we are the proud new owners of this---

no, I'm not kidding. It's a bulldozer and I choose to call it Jeb. I felt it needed a name because I was so shocked and less than thrilled we purchased it. We have a lot of dirt work around the house so we will use it then sell it...hopefully sooner than later. Anderson couldn't possibly be more thrilled.

But in the midst of the constant work and chaos we still have time to play...

like sweet little boys pretending to be daddies and grandpas....

or a precious little girl twirling in the sprinkler....
Nope, we aren't normal and I'm certain people think we are crazy right now for what we are undertaking. It's a challenge but it will all be worth it...craziness and all :)
